  • The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting both internal and external customers with technical expertise needed to deliver sales results including answering questions by phone, email or in person, assisting with defining customer requirements, developing custom solutions, traveling as necessary and providing excellent customer service. The Sales Engineer will also work in collaboration with Product Managers to provide support and assist in defining customer needs for new product development. The Sales Engineer’s job also includes ensuring that our products support the company’s overall strategy and goals. The Sales Engineer will report directly to the VP of Quality and Engineering.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage custom products that we develop for customers.
  • Technical sales calls with Regionals / Reps / Sales.

  • Using experiences and knowledge from Special Product initiatives to communicate with PMs, supporting them in decisions around new standard product offerings

    The Southeastern Region of the US. Near a major airport. Preferably Florida or Atlanta, GA.


    • The Southeast Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing, evaluating, and supporting the rep agencies in each market by developing regional sales plans, and assisting senior management with the planning and development of regional sales plans and strategies. The Southeast Regional Sales Manager should reside in the territory near a major airport. Preference for Florida or Atlanta, GA. Initial territory is Eastern Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. This may change as the needs of the company and market conditions change.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, evaluate, and support our network of independent sales reps.
  • Complete area planning with each rep, target new Preferred Partners.
  • Develop capabilities of sales reps through an active coaching/mentoring process.
  • Travel within territory approximately twice a month.
  • Manage sales reps to exceed yearly sales goal.
  • Develop the region.
  • Achieve sales, gross profit, and product mix goals for entire region.
  • Report regional market trends and penetration for each sales rep.
  • Develop succession plans for reps.
  • Maintain region expenses at or below annual budget levels.
  • Assist senior management.
  • Coordinate regional sales plan with national plans and goals.
  • Act as intermediary between factory and sales reps.
  • Identify opportunities for regional growth.
  • Target and set up meetings with regional distributors who have DCs to stock our product.
  • Identify high profile customers warranting increased levels of interaction and elicit support from appropriate personnel.
  • The RSM will be involved in the following activities:

  • Selling
    1. Travel with reps to major accounts to assist in sales process
    2. Identify critical accounts and opportunities to involve other key company employees (i.e. VP of Sales, VP of Marketing).
    3. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers (e.g. branch managers sales managers of key distributors, lighting specialists at distributor accounts).
  • Administration
    1. Report on region’s challenges, opportunities, and sales performance on a weekly and quarterly basis.
    2. Monitor sales rep performance, both quantitatively and qualitatively, monthly.
    3. Review with each agent principal quarterly to ensure goals for territory are being met and on track.
    4. Complete weekly call report of any major opportunities quoted, and the details of calls made each week with action items.
  • Meetings
    1. Attend Quarterly Sales and Marketing (SAM) Meetings.
    2. Attend special project meetings when appropriate.
    3. Assist with new product development (NPD) when appropriate.
    4. Assist with setting up NAED meetings as appropriate.
  • Planning
    1. Implement annual sales goals for your region which align with company goals.
    2. Develop annual plans, in conjunction with your sales reps, for the development of new customers and for the sale of new products.
    3. Assist with the development of account plans with each of your sales reps focusing on further development of their largest customers and how to develop new customers or enter new channels (e.g., contractor, regional or local ESCO sales) .
  • Coaching/Mentoring
    1. Mentor new sales reps in your region.
    2. Work closely with new reps to encourage them, ensure they focus on the correct customers, and help develop their skills .
    3. Develop action plan for each territory to include targeting new customers, and re-engaging with existing preferred partners .
  • Expected use of time

  • 50% selling in the region (calling on distributors).
  • 30% calling on end users and electrical contractors with or without a distributor partner.
  • 10% coaching and training reps.
  • 10% each for administrative, meetings, and training.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Previous sales or sales management experience.
  • Knowledge of the electrical distributor channel in the North Central Region.
  • Existing relationships with key electrical distributors.
  • Previous experience in the lighting or electrical market.
  • Education

    • The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for supporting the Sales Department by facilitating the relationship between the company, customer, and end-user. The primary focus is project orders. The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for carrying out multiple layers to meet the project installation dates. The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for working with the Supply Chain, Purchasing and Production. The Projects Customer Service Specialist reports to the Director of Project Operations.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, evaluate, and support sales reps.
  • Provide pricing and availability, referring advanced issues to appropriate departments.
  • Listen to customers’ issues, work to resolve problems.
  • Process sales orders from the project portal using the ERP software.
  • Review PO’s and Sales Orders to ensure all information is accurate for proper fulfillment. Interface with sales or engineering to resolve any issues.
  • Establish ESD from Supply Chain reports.
  • Work with production through to monitor products.
  • Release confirmations eliciting any additional information required on logistics, installation date or end-user requirements.
  • Monitor and review all open orders on a weekly basis to ensure ESD is met, notify customer of any delays.
  • Work with shipping on logistic issues, alert customers of tracking information.
  • Manage key customer weekly report of open orders.
  • Understand and handle No Charge Sample process, keep sales informed of sample order release.
  • Understand and follow the return process for all project orders, alert product manager as to defective product returns.
  • Attend product training and workshops to maintain product knowledge.
  • Bring unresolved issues to the attention of the Director of Project Operations.
